GINPROSA PARTICIPATES IN INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR “NEW APPROACHES TO THE PLANNING AND TRANSPORTATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS IN CITIES LIMA AND CALLAO”
Lima, June 15, 2012. GINPROSA has participated in the International Seminar: New Approaches to the planning and management of transportation systems in the cities of Lima and Callao, which was held on 13 and 14 June 2012 at the College of Engineers of Peru, Council National, in Lima, Peru.
Pilar Jaén, General Manager of GINPROSA, was in charge of moderating the Discussion Board: “Alternatives of transportation infrastructure to the cities of Lima and Callao: Recent studies”, which also included prominent international figures in the field of transportation engineering.
The seminar has been attended by experts from Brazil, Colombia, Peru and Spain, and it has been analyzed the problems of transport in the cities of Lima and Callao. The target has been to reflect through new approaches that include urban planning, logistics, transport models, new technologies and the social and environmental impact, among others.
The seminar was divided into the following sessions:
- Management of competitiveness, urban development and transportation infrastructure: Lessons learned from structural macroprojects. How to ensure the progressive implementation of an infrastructure plan long term?
- Panel Discussion: Alternatives of transportation infrastructure to the cities of Lima and Callao: recent studies.
- Systems integration of urban transport for the cities of Lima and Callao. How to achieve the integration of urban transport network?
- Panel discussion: Progress in the integration of transportation systems in Lima and Callao.
- International experiences in planning and management of the metropolitan territory. How to build an institutional framework for planning and transportation management in the city of Lima and Callao?
- Panel Discussion: The need for an autonomous authority to manage transportation in Lima and Callao
The event was attended by Minister of Transportation and Communications of Peru, D. Carlos Paredes Rodriguez, the mayors of Lima and Callao and Representative Director of CAF in Peru, the Development Bank in Latin America.
